Terms of service

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using plumbersincanada.com (the “Site”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

2. What the service is

The Site is a directory of Canadian plumbing businesses. The information is provided for general reference only. We are not a party to any contract, work order, or transaction you form with a plumber listed on the Site.

3. Accuracy and currency of listings

We compile listings from public sources and refresh them on a documented cadence (see the data-refresh date in the Site footer). We do not warrant that any specific data point is current or correct on any given day.

4. No endorsement, no warranty

The Plumbers in Canada directory is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis. The operator makes no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, reliability, suitability, or availability of any information on the Site. Inclusion of a business in the directory is not an endorsement, recommendation, or certification of that business, its services, or any individual associated with it. You are responsible for verifying a plumber's licence, insurance, and qualifications with your provincial regulator before engaging them for work.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator's total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the Site, whether in contract, tort, statute, or otherwise, will not exceed one hundred Canadian dollars (CAD $100). The operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations; in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the smallest amount the law permits.

6. Use of the Site

You may use the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes only. You may not, and you may not permit any third party to: (a) scrape, crawl, harvest, or otherwise extract directory data in bulk beyond what robots.txt and our published rate limits permit; (b) republish, sell, license, or commercially exploit any substantial portion of the directory; or (c) use the directory data to populate a competing service. Search-engine crawlers and AI training crawlers operating within the directives published at https://www.plumbersincanada.com/robots.txt are expressly permitted.

7. Intellectual property

The Site as a whole — including the selection, arrangement, and presentation of directory information — is the operator's copyright. Third-party trademarks, including business names and logos that may appear in listings, belong to their respective owners.

8. User submissions

At present, the Site does not accept user submissions. When forms are added in the future, submissions will be governed by an updated version of this document and the Privacy Policy.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold the operator harmless from any claim, demand, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Site or your violation of these Terms.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, for any reason, without notice. You may stop using the Site at any time.

11. Changes to these Terms

We update the “Last updated” date below whenever these Terms change. For material changes, we publish a brief change note in the Site footer for 30 days following the change. Continued use of the Site after a material change constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

12. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. The courts of the Province of Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.

14. Entire agreement

These Terms and the Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and the operator regarding the Site, superseding any prior agreement.
